Chapters
NCAWA is a statewide organization that also has local chapters throughout the state of North Carolina. Each local chapter is an independent voluntary bar association, but its members, prior to enrolling in the local chapter, should become members of the NCAWA state organization.
Chapters each have their own bylaws, which are based on model bylaws provided by the state organization. Chapter membership terms, dues, processes, and procedures are consistent with the Chapter Policies and Procedures set forth by the NCAWA Board of Directors. In addition to NCAWA's programs, events, and informational offerings statewide, the local chapters host local events and activities. Each chapter elects its own governing body and selects a chapter representative, who serves as a liaison to the NCAWA Board of Directors.
