The JEC evaluates candidates based on their legal skill and ability, temperament for judicial office, involvement in the profession and in the community, support for women in the legal profession and support of the rights of women under the law.

The JEC board investigates at length every candidate in a race in which any candidate seeks an endorsement. The JEC makes no endorsement between equally qualified candidates, given the above criteria, and never endorses a candidate who has not sought an endorsement.

Appellate court candidates should have received a letter from the JEC three weeks ago. Trial court candidates should have received a letter within the last week.

I greatly appreciate the hard work and diligent effort of the twelve members of the Judicial Endorsement Committee board.
