Wake Women Attorneys will host its June 2013 luncheon on Thursday, June 13, 2013, beginning at 12:30 pm at Tyler's Taproom, 18 Seaboard Ave., Raleigh, NC. 

 

This month we will be hosting a panel to discuss Women in Public Service.  The panel will be moderated by Katrina Lambert of the North Carolina Center for Women in Public Service, as well as Michael Pearlmutter, Executive Director of the North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership.  Members of the panel will include two of our own members, Kyla Block, who currently serves as a Special Deputy Commissioner for the North Carolina Industrial Commission and is an At-Large Board Member of Wake Women Attorneys, as well as Kate Deiter-Maradei, who has held numerous public service leadership roles and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Wake County Commission for Women.  We invite you to visit the website for the North Carolina Center for Women in Public Service at http://nccwps.org/ for more information about this organization.

Wake Women Attorneys will host its May 2013 luncheon on Thursday, May 9, 2013, beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Bella Monica, located at 3121 Edwards Mill Road, Raleigh, NC.

 

This lunch will be a social/networking lunch.  There will be no set menu price, so Bella Monica's full lunch menu will be available.  You may take a look at the menu here.  There will also be no speaker at this event, so please feel free to come and go as your schedule permits. 

 

We encourage you to bring your business card to lunch as we plan to create a business card directory to be distributed to our members.

Wake Women Attorneys will host a Legislative Update CLE on Thursday, April 11, 2013 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Cardinal Club located at 150 Fayetteville Street Raleigh, NC.  

 

The Legislative Update CLE will be presented by Colleen Kochanek.  The presentation will cover a summary of legislation considered and approved during the 2012 legislative session, including new laws and changes to current laws that affect criminal laws, domestic violence, environmental issues, the North Carolina budget and a variety of other legislation of interest.  It will also discuss this first legislative session under Republican control as well as legislative updates since the beginning of 2013, and will forecast what’s to come in the next legislative session.  This CLE has been approved by the North Carolina State Bar as eligible for 1 hour of General CLE Credit.

 

The CLE is FREE for Current Members and $25.00 for Non-Members, and will feature a buffet lunch.  Parking will be provided by Wake Women Attorneys for both member and non-member guests.  Please park in the Alexander Parking Deck, located on S. Wilmington Street almost immediately across the street from Gravy (when traveling down S. Wilmington Street, entrance to the Parking Deck will be on your left).  This will be the only parking deck in which we can validate your parking.
