MEMBER BENEFITS

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

We encourage our members to become involved in one or more of our committees.  The experience gained is invaluable and provides a great foundation for further leadership positions.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Each year, through our Chapters and Annual Conference, the NCAWA organizes a wide variety of dynamic programs. Typically held during lunchtime or after work, our programs address topics that include substantive legal issues, practice development, career development, and matters of general concern to all women.  These programs feature experts, authors, dignitaries, and government officials, many of whom are our very own members.

AN INSTANT NETWORK

Membership in the NCAWA opens doors.  Through your involvement in the NCAWA, you have the opportunity to network with women and men who are at the very top of our profession.  Members of the NCAWA support each other, developing mentoring relationships, serving as role models, and creating opportunities for one another.

FIRST-CLASS EVENTS

Each year, the NCAWA hosts annual events that provide members an opportunity to meet and hear from prominent individuals in the profession.

RECOGNITION & VISIBILITY

We all know it’s awkward to toot your own horn.  Let the NCAWA promote your accomplishments and achievements in our newsletters and e-blasts, and on our website.  We are committed to advancing women as leaders and role models in the profession.

A CONNECTION TO THE COMMUNITY

NCAWA maintains a commitment to improving the lives of women and North Carolinians.  Through our members, we support many community service projects and programs to support the community.  Among other things, NCAWA provides scholarships to women law students in North Carolina.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:
  • The opportunity to network with hundreds of members, both women and men, from the judiciary, law firms, corporations, non-profits, and the government.

  • A subscription to NCAWA's member newsletters.

  • Membership option with any of NCAWA's eight local Chapters located throughout North Carolina.

  • Preferential registration fees and discounts for many NCAWA and local Chapter programs and events.

PAPER APPLICATION

Print out the 2023 Membership Application to pay by mail.

PLEASE NOTE:  All memberships run for the calendar year.  For checks mailed to NCAWA, please expect a turnaround time of approximately two (2) weeks for payment processing.  If you join or renew on or after October 4, 2022 (unless you join as a one-time Half-Year member or unless you renewed earlier through an automatically-generated invoice you received), then your membership will be good through 2023 (i.e. will not expire until December 31, 2023).  *Due to technical restrictions, if you join or renew during the time period between October 4, 2022 and December 31, 2022 and were not a member in 2022, then it is likely that the expiration date on your invoice will say 12/31/2022.  Notwithstanding when you pay said invoice, NCAWA must and will manually update your profile after your dues are processed to reflect a membership expiration date of 12/31/2023.  You may receive automatically-generated emails telling you that your NCAWA membership has lapsed as of 12/31/2022 and/or that you have a new/open invoice for 2023 NCAWA membership dues.  Please do not worry about the emails or new/open invoice!  Once your profile is updated with the 2023 expiration date, the new/open invoice should be voided when the system resets and you should not receive another membership dues invoice until it is time to renew for 2024.  Lastly, you may receive previously-scheduled membership renewal emails from our website.  Please disregard such emails if your membership is up-to-date.
